2. Review prepositions. Take notes on preps L to 0: like, near, of, off,
on, onto, out, outside, over. Preposition Challenge
3. Finish “Life in the Countryside” Renaissance summary notes: Life in the Renaissance Reading

4. Check Wordly Wise 8E and 9A, B, C for credit.

February 8th: Monday

1. Collect reading logs and receive new ones.
2. Preposition practice and pretest practice.
3. Wordly Wise 9 spelling pretest.
4. In class time for completion of Wordly Wise 9A, B, and C.

Homework: Complete Wordly Wise E before block day! Practice for block day spelling and vocabulary tests.

February 4th and 5th: block days

1. Update independent reading log. Read 10 minutes.
2. Read Wordly Wise 8E together and check answers.
3. Take Wordly Wise 8 spelling and vocabulary tests.
4. Complete preposition pre-test. You should know prepositions A to I! This will be the test you will take at the end of next week!
5. Complete preposition unscramble.

Homework:
a. Review your memorization of prepositions A to I. Test over all 53 next block day!
b. Planner and reading log signature
c. You may begin looking for your research paper resources if you would like. We will take one period next week to gather them!

February 3rd: Wednesday

1. Approve research topics for those who returned with a parent/
guardian signed form.
2. Compete with recitation of B prepositions. Record C-I prepositions (concerning, down, during, except, for, from, in, inside, into) into the composition notebook.
3. Receive Summarization handout and discuss. Summarization
4. Receive bibliography/note form for research from a book Note-Taking Books TMS[1]
5. Write bibliography book information and practice summarization using Kathryn Hind’s Life in the Renaissance. You will need to make this up during lunch if you were absent!

Homework:
a. Memorize C-I prepositions.
b. Finish Wordly Wise 8E and study for block day spelling and vocabulary tests.

February 2nd: Tuesday

1. Compete with A prepositions
2. Take notes for B prepositions
3. Check Wordly Wise 8 A, B, C
4. Receive introduction to research:
a. Introduction to Research Paper
b. Introduction to Research Handout for Students

Homework:
a. Memorize B prepositions
b. Obtain parent/guardian signature for research choice topic
c. Wordly Wise 8 spelling and vocabulary tests on block day

February 1st: Monday

1. Collect “Determining Parts of Speech Packet” and reading log
2. Receive final exam feedback sheet and look at questions missed. Take home feedback sheet and discuss results with a parent.
3. Write down “A” prepositions. Memorize for tomorrow’s competition.
4. Take WW8 spelling pretest and work on exercise A, B, and C.

a. Finish WW8 A,B,C tonight. Exercise E due on Wednesday.

January 26th: Tuesday

1. Review conjunctions and introduce interjections.
2. Check “Third Six Weeks Grammar Review Guide”. Answer Key Third Six Weeks’ Review Guide Grammar
3. Check “Third Six Weeks Literature Review Guide”. Answer Key Third Six Weeks’ Review Guide for Literature
4. Finish Literature and Writing Jeopardy from the blog. Students received an answer key at the end of class. Semester One Jeopardy answers

Homework: Complete “Determining Parts of Speech” packet for Monday. Determining Parts of Speech If you are able to complete it before the final, it will be excellent practice!

January 25th: Monday

1. Collect reading logs and complete planner participation.
2. Review adverbs and prepositions. Introduce coordinating and correlative conjunctions. Conjunctions
3. Complete conjunction worksheet. Conjunctions and interjections
4. Finish Grammar Review guide and begin Literature, Writing, and Grammar review Jeopardy on the blog!

Homework:
a. Study review guides from entire semester. You should have 8 of them! You may also work on Jeopardy games at home if you please!
